Proud and Strong

The Kewdale Little Athletics Club’s primary objective is to provide boys and girls aged from under 6 to under 17 years the opportunity to participate in the sport of Little Athletics regardless of ability.

We recognise that children develop their basic motor skills of running, jumping and throwing at different rates and therefore encourage athletes to set realistic goals for themselves centred on achieving "Personal Bests" (PB's).

The club aims to provide all children with a fun, friendly and safe environment in which they can participate in the sport of Little Athletics. Their enjoyment of the sport is the best reward we can ask for as parents. Positive encouragement and a focus on Personal Best achievements helps ensure that each child succeeds as an athlete regardless of their ability and where they finish in an event.

Little Athletics is one of the few sports where children of varying ages and either gender can compete at the same time and location. It also allows parents with little or no experience to get involved in the sport as site helpers. This family inclusive approach assists both parents and children to feel a part of the Little Athletics community.

Like all of the original eleven clubs at that time, its member base was derived solely from the students of the local primary school each club was named after.
